Around the residential area you will find agricultural crops and terraced olive groves. At higher quotes and on the steepest sections of the nearby hills, the Mediterranean scrub takes over: Mastic, Strawberry tree, Myrtle, Heather, Broom as well as Chestnut and Holm Oak trees until we reach the vast meadows of Mount Faudo at 1149 m asl. The local birdlife includes Blackbird, Blackcap, Green Woodpecker, Robin and birds of prey such as Short Toed Eagle and Buzzard. You can find rare reptiles such as Coluber Riccioli and mammals such as Wild Pigs, Stone Marten, European Red Squirrel.
