Inaugurata il 30 Maggio 2021, questa piazza accoglie statue rappresentanti i vari personaggi del romanzo “Baudolino”. Le opere furono realizzate vent’anni fa dalla scuola del ceramista Guido Mariani, a seguito di uno scambio di lettere tra l’allora sindaco Romano Bianchi e il celebre scrittore Umberto Eco. Queste pittoresche sculture, tenute nascoste per un lungo periodo, finalmente trovano posto in una delle nostre piazzette più belle per essere ammirate dai badalucchesi stessi e dai tanti turisti che vengono a trovarci.

Umberto Eco square
Inaugurated on the 30th May 2021, this square houses statues representing various characters from the novel “Baudolino”. These works of art were created 20 years ago by the school of the renowned ceramist Guido Mariani, following an exchange of letters between the then mayor of Badalucco Romano Bianchi and the famous writer Umberto Eco. The sculptures, inaccessible for many years, have finally found a home in one of our most beautiful squares so they can be admired by the village inhabitants and the many tourists who visit Badalucco each year.
